History

The IKAV Dragon's Claw, although only new to Sundragon Fleet, has had a distinguished life, and has served the Fleet well.
The Claw was born when Marine Major DehGems vestai-Chukhor (then a Captain) needed a ship with which to better command the Sundragon Fleet Marines.
DehGems, recently given control of the Marines after Marine Captain Morf was promoted to "The Cook", was eager to get command of a ship and form a crew that would follow him into battle whenever they were needed.
Around the same time that DehGems was looking for a worthy ship, Cmdr Krud, the leader of the Sundragon Fleet, was promoted to Captain. This meant that he would better serve his Fleet by devoting his time to it, instead of the everyday running of the IKV Dragon's Fury, which he captained.. This left the Fury without a captain, and the position of the Flagship was awarded to Cmdr B'Leth, Krud's wife, and a truly honorable warrior.
B'Leth was the captain of the IKV Dragon's Flame, a proud ship of Marines, ready to be defrosted from cryogenic stasis when they were needed for the glory of the Empire. In her place, DehGems was given the captaincy of this mighty ship, and it was refitted, and re-crewed, to better serve the Empire.
The frozen warriors were carefully stored while the Claw underwent its refitting, receiving upgraded shields and armourments, making it a true fighting ship. Once the refitting was complete, it was officially commissioned the IKAV Dragon's Claw, and the Flagship of the Marines.
DehGems crewed his ship with only the bravest of warriors, including his good friend lod'Chuch (second officer/tactical). Along with medical officer, Korg and security officers, Kut'luch, H'Krameh and Kah'Sakuum, the Claw began a new era of Marine presence within the Empire.
Since its launch, the Claw has proved itself a mighty ship in battle, time and again destroying its enemies and honoring the Empire.
When the IKV Dragon's Deception was destroyed, the Claw was among the first ships to arrive. Among the crew members it rescued were his be'jup veqtaH, and her sister, K'Veer. As these two mighty warriors no longer had a ship on which to serve, DehGems asked them to join his crew, and they both accepted. veqtaH became the communication/Fleet liaison officer, due to her rank within the KAG Navy, and K'Veer became the navigation officer. Although not Marines, these two warriors were accepted into the Claw with honour (of course, if they hadn't have been, the crew members involved would have had to answer to DehGems).
Since then the ship has been in dry dock and many of it's noble warriors (including DehGems) have had offers to better themselves as warriors within the Klingon Empire. This has left the Claw with only a skeleton crew. After the promotion of Lt Kut'luch tai-Gen'tok to Captain and Commander of the SDF Marine Division of the Sundragon Fleet. He is also the Commander of the SDF's Flag Ship, the IKAV Dragons Claw, so as the Claw was not placed in to Moth balls and still had a position of pride within the marines and the Fleet as a whole.
The Claw continues to do Honour to the Empire, and is involved with most aspects of the Sundragon Fleet.
